Review of the London Clinic Saturday 30th
September:

- From left to right, Graham, Paul and Stuart
(the Swim Smooth Team) demonstrate a good torpedo push-off the
wall for the swimmers on the course.

- Testing the new SHARKEYE
underwater system.
The London Swim Smooth Clinic was fully booked just 5 days after
announcing the date back at the start of August, and as such much
anticipation surrounded this Clinic, both for the swimmers AND the
Swim Smooth Team!
Paul
was again assisted by one of Bath University's Swim Coaches, Stuart
Ashley, and also Graham Williams, Head Coach of the Deal TRI Club
based down in Kent. Both coaches assisted with the running of
the London Clinic back in the middle of March this year and both
received great praise for their technical knowledge of the freestyle
stroke, but more importantly how to apply this to the swimmers
within the group. Swim Smooth was very keen to have both coaches
leading the charge at this Autumn's London Clinic which was held
on Saturday 30th September at the Windsor Leisure Centre.
As
shown above, the Swim Smooth Team utilised the excellent new SHARKEYE
underwater filming system for the Clinic and the swimmers really
benefitted from the underwater footage that could be obtained
and played back immediately on poolside. Underwater and above
water video analysis is an essential tool for helping someone
learn about their stroke and how to improve. When you are able
to play footage back to the swimmer only moments after having
completed a length of the pool, the learning process is further
enhanced. Swim Smooth is now the official Australian Distributor
of the SharkEYE system, which can be purchase through the payment
page.

underwater video system set-up on pool deck; 2) Stuart Ashley
'modelling' for Swim Smooth; 3) Paul shows more swimmers how to
lengthen through the abs like they're a stick of liquorice whilst
Graham Williams looks on; 4) Paul tests the SHARKEYE system using
the remote wand; 5) Paul shows more swimmers how to kick through
from the glutes by imagining a pound coin squeezed between their
bum cheeks! Simple instruction leads to good results.
Reviews:
Below is
some of the feedback provided by the swimmers on the course:

"It was fantastical organised,
very efficiently structured, and a very knowledgeable, kind and
helpful team made it a great day. I learned more than I had expected.
I hope to be able to report in six months a much better 100/400
m time than I do at the moment. I liked in particular during the
pool session that I could easily follow, information and things
to focus on were well packaged and were not to many. It was just
the right amount of new things which helped my style enormously.
Thank you, Stuart and Graham again for that great day!"
Stephan van Possern, via email.
"This technical session should
be made essential for all triathletes, what ever the level, and
you should have great success in the future with this business.
Its a definite value add, and you and your team have a good teaching
attitude. I feel my pbs will drop considerably once I take the
time and learn to adjust my legs naturally."
Aidan O'Neill, via email.
"Thanks for the session today
Paolo. I benefited from it substantially which hopefully
makes up for your tortuous commute a little tiny bit."
Mark Stride, via email.
"Just
a quick note to say many, many thanks for a really enjoyable and
informative day on Saturday. I noticed a clear improvement in
my stroke count at my regular training session yesterday and can
now regularly swim 18 stokes/length, down from around 22! I spoke
with Nicky yesterday and she also was gushing over how much she
felt she'd improved!"
