Which video format should
I be choosing?
There
are two main TV video standards, PAL (Phase Alternating Line)
and NTSC (NationalTelevision System Committee). NTSC is used mainly
in North America, Japan, Mexico and Canada, and PAL is used almost
everywhere else in the world including Western Europe, the UK,
Australia and NZ. Read more
about NTSC and PAL here.
The Swim Smooth DVD Boxset is available for
purchase in the both the PAL and NTSC formats. It is also coded
to "all regions" for universal compatibility. Many new
DVD players will play both video formats, though the TV you are
intending to play it on may only play one or the other.
The
website www.michael.dvd.com.au
offers an excellent description of which video format offers the
highest quality viewing in different conditions. For a list of
country-by-country video formats, check out the Video
Interchange website and scroll almost to the bottom of
their very detailed information page.
If you are still unsure it is advised that you
check your local and regional TV-video format before ordering
either of the DVD formats, or give contact
us and we'll be happy to assist!
Thankyou!
