What do a 34yr old Ironman World Champion and an 89yr old Olympian have in common?

If you're seeking some inspiration, there's a sample session for you to try this week at the bottom of this email provided by one of today's special podcast guests, 89 year old Dave Radcliff from Oregon, USA.

Dave holds all freestyle world records for the 75-79 and 80-84 age groups, from 50m to 1500m. His 1500m freestyle World Record time at age 80 was 22:16.90, only 3 minutes slower than the time he swam in the 1956 Olympics. For those of you who know your Critical Swim Speed (CSS) - that's an amazing 1:29/100m!

It was an absolute honour and so much fun to meet and record this week's podcast with Dave together with my two co-hosts, Barrie Eves (87) and John Elliott (76).

It's crazy to think that a whopping 55 years separates the two great athletes that I'll be chatting with / discussing today - 1956 Olympian Dave Radcliff and 2022 Hawaii Ironman World Champion Chelsea Sodaro - their commonality is not just that they're world-class performers, but that they're also thoroughly lovely people with a great outlook on life too!

The return of the Swim Smooth podcast!

This week we've got not one, not two, but three exciting new podcasts for you to delve into, featuring a range of discussion points and topics that are sure to appeal, whatever your age, ability and level of swimming! Here they are:
