2. In-person Course – Once you’ve successfully passed the bootcamp test, you can apply for our 10-day Swim Smooth Certification Courses, offered in multiple locations worldwide. This hands-on course focuses on stroke correction, coaching techniques, and practical implementation of the Swim Smooth methodology. Candidates who achieve higher than 80% in the bootcamp test and demonstrate alignment with our core values will be invited to attend.

3. Mentoring – After the in-person course, you’ll be paired with a Swim Smooth Mentor, who will support you through a series of assessments. These evaluations will test your ability to apply Swim Smooth’s methods in key areas like coaching philosophy, Swim Types identification, stroke correction, video analysis, and running a coaching business. The mentoring process ensures you’re ready to meet the high standards expected of certified Swim Smooth Coaches.

The old 3-day course was a great introduction, but we recognized the need for deeper learning and ongoing mentorship to maintain the highest standards of coaching. By introducing the 7-day PRO Online Video Analysis Bootcamp as the first step, coaches can now gain a thorough understanding of our methodology at their own pace and from any location. This is followed by a 10-day in-person certification course, allowing more time for hands-on coaching and direct mentorship.

This updated format not only reduces the cost and time commitment of the certification process, but it also ensures that we attract the right coaches—those who are fully aligned with our values and committed to delivering world-class swim coaching. Ultimately, this blended approach allows us to identify and mentor the very best coaches, creating a more robust global coaching network.

Do I need to travel to a Swim Smooth location for certification?

Much of the initial learning can be done online, but the 10-day in-person course will require you to travel to one of 4 international locations. There is also the opportunity for additional practical elements, including shadowing other coaches if deemed necessary, which may require travel to Swim Smooth training hubs.
